Reading with your ears
How narration works in Tapread: the sentence being read is framed on the page, you pick up where you stopped, and here’s what it costs.

Some evenings your eyes are done before the chapter is. Narration lets the story carry on.
Follow along, or don’t
When you switch to listening, the sentence being read is framed on the page and the ones around it fade back. Tap any sentence to jump to it. You can look away and just listen, or follow the text and hear how each line is meant to sound.
Pick up where you stopped
Narration starts from the sentence you were reading. When you go back to reading, the page opens where the voice left off. It keeps playing when the screen is locked or when you go back to your library.
Languages and voices
Narration is available in English, Spanish, French, Italian and Japanese. Each language has its own voices, trained on that language, so the narrator doesn’t sound like a tourist.
What it costs
Every book comes with a free minute of narration, enough to hear the voice and decide whether you like it. Tapread Premium costs $39.99 a year or $9.99 a month and includes 15 hours of narration, along with unlimited word translations and whole-sentence translation.
The hours count narration, not listening. Once a chapter has been read aloud, playing it again is free, even if you delete the audio to save space and download it later. Unused hours don’t roll over to the next month, and books are narrated one at a time.
What we need to narrate a chapter
To turn a chapter into audio, our server has to read it, so the text of the chapters you choose is sent for narration. Nothing is narrated unless you ask for it. The Privacy Policy explains what is stored and for how long.
